Fernando was trained as an engineer from FAAP, Brazil, and has over 35 years of electro-mechanic design experience. He spent most of his years designing equipment for the medical field, from blood analysis to serum fractioning and has over 30 patents to his name. He had the honour to work for Dan Gelbart (Creo), on several projects related to the printing industry. He was one of the founding engineers at Kardium where he was the main designer for the Globe catheter and grew the business from 3 to 200 people in 15 years. Leading up to his immigration to Canada in 1995, he also owned his own business producing automatic blood cell staining devices.
